NVIDIA launches GeForce GTX and 1060 with 6GB GDDR5

As commented recently, NVIDIA was planning the launch of its newest video card: the GTX 1060. Well, today (07/07), the company updated its site with the main product information.

The GTX 1060 comes to replace the GTX 960 and, thanks to the Pascal architecture, it can achieve up to twice performance in some cases. According to the manufacturer, this feat is possible in Rise of The Tomb Raider game, with DirectX 12 API.

In other games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Overwatch, the GTX 1060 raises performance significantly, delivering about 70% more frames per second. Taking into account virtual reality experiences, the manufacturer promises improved even more impactful, which reaches three times that would be possible with the GTX 960

Another striking feature of the product is the low energy consumption which, according to the specifications, does not exceed 120 watts. It is worth noting that we are dealing with a very compact board, with dimensions of only 11 and 24 cm (in height and length, respectively).

As with the 1080 GTX and GTX 1070, a new NVIDIA card first reaches the consumer in Founders Edition version but custom models will be launched soon. Check out all Product Specifications:
